Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Boxes
A name, place, or other detail entered in a search tool is sent to the independent provider that powers that tool. Hillsborough County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its own privacy notice and terms, so review those documents before submitting personal information or opening a paid service.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or submit a contact message, we retain the message and reply details as needed to answer. We do not provide that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process. A message to this site is not a public-record request to HCSO, the Hillsborough Clerk, FDC, or another government custodian.
Information Collected During Visits
Standard web and analytics systems may record technical information when a page loads. That information can include:
- The internet protocol address associated with the request
- The browser name and version used to open the page
- The device category and operating system
- The pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- The date and time of the request
Cookie Use
Cookies and similar browser storage help measure how visitors move through the site. Most browsers let users reject or remove cookies. Blocking them may cause some search, preference, analytics, or advertising features to work differently.
How Information Is Used
Collected information supports routine site operation and improvement. We may use it to:
- Deliver pages reliably and maintain reasonable performance
- Send a search request to the partner selected by the tool
- Understand which Hillsborough release topics visitors use
- Detect faults, misuse, and other technical problems
- Display advertising that may reflect general interests
Privacy on Linked Websites
Links may open HCSO release records, Hillsborough Clerk court services, Florida Department of Corrections searches, BOP or ICE systems, other government portals, and independent search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy notice governs its collection and use. Florida public-record access through government custodians is governed by applicable law, including section 119.07, Florida Statutes, rather than by this site's Privacy Notice.
Advertising partners may use their own technologies to measure activity across websites and select interest-based advertisements. That tracking occurs on partner systems under the partner's rules. Hillsborough County Released Inmates does not control those independent technologies.
When Information May Be Shared
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:
- Search partners that must receive a query to return results
- Analytics providers that measure visits and page use
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure advertisements
- Law-enforcement agencies or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Security Measures and Limits
We use customary safeguards intended to protect information within our control. No internet transmission, browser session, server, or storage system can be promised to remain completely secure. These practices are a reasonable effort, not a warranty that access, loss, misuse, or a breach can never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted personal data, use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.
Choices About Personal Data
Subject to applicable law and the information actually held by this site, a person may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal data associated with the request
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete information that is eligible for erasure
- Opt out of certain forms of processing
These requests concern data held by this private site. A correction or deletion request for an HCSO booking record, Hillsborough court file, FDC record, or federal locator result must go to the government custodian that controls it.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as site practices or legal duties change. The updated version becomes effective when it is posted here with a revised effective date. Continued use after posting means the revised notice applies to later activity.
